Hi! I'm Ashia
I am a second year costume design and construction student at Nottingham Trent University. I am particularly interested in costume for film and historical costume. I love working with natural dye techniques with much of my previous work having a strong connection to nature and natural processes. My favourite part of the process of creating a costume is always the research stage, giving myself a clear idea of what I want to create.

I was born and grew up in Northern Ireland, where I studied A-Level Art and Moving Image Art. My passion for costume design began at 15 (despite an interest in historical clothing from an early age) when I worked on my first costume project for a GCSE Drama production, designing an 18th century Norwegian day dress. Since then I have been involved in many areas of film and theatre, as well as teaching myself to sew and construct garments.
