Once Upon A Time in Hollywood (2019)

Once upon a time in Hollywood is a Tarantino film that revolves around the fictional retelling of the lead up to and real-life murder of Sharon Tate.

The film was an interesting watch though the film was in my opinion too long in length and large sections of the film could have been easily shortened to create a more interesting and fast moving plot. The stylisation of the film is very effective. I love the warm colouring used in the cinematography to give the audience the feeling of the warm Californian climate.

The plot confused me slightly, while the film is supposedly meant to be focused around Sharon Tate yet she hardly appears on screen during its 2 hour and 40 minute run. It was only after researching the real life storey of Sharon Tate that I truly understood what the film was about.

The film is very artistic in its camera work, the classic Tarantino feet shots feature. The wide views of the landscape of Hollywood capture an intriguing world of A-list celebrities. The friendship of Rick and Cliff is fun to watch and explore on screen.
